championships.
MEXICO CITY- Canada
Red remained undefeated in women’s play Tuesday afternoon at the
inaugural Pan American Youth Championships in water polo with a 10-1
victory over Mexico Green while Canada White hammered Mexico Red
15-0.
Canada Red upped
its record to 3-0 to lead the six-team round robin tournament. The

Calgary and Saara Majuri of Vancouver with two each while Casey
Pottier of Kitchener, Ont., Julie Bélanger of Montreal, Carly
Proulx of Winnipeg and Candice Philipe of Vancouver added one each.
Canada Red also
beat Canada White 2-1 and Jamaica 17-0 this week.
"For most of
us this is our first international competition and we’re very
excited to be here and doing so well," said Csikos, who scored
the winning goal against Canada White on Sunday. "We were
pretty nervous about this game against Mexico and it actually
started out pretty tough but our fitness took over in the second
half."
Canada White moved
to 2-1 with its win against Mexico Red. Scorers were Noémie
Lafortune of Montreal with five goals, Kelsey Campbell of Vancouver
with four, Elizabeth Pannell of Vancouver and Kristin Harmidy of

playing extremely well as a team," said Lafortune who also
scored three times in her team’s 11-1 win over Puerto Rico Monday
night. "The passing is crisp and I’ve been lucky enough to be
at the right place at the right time. There’s no doubt that we’re
wearing down the opposition."

Canada East moved to 2-0 with a victory over Argentina 9-2. Dusko
Dakic of Gatineau, Que., led the Canadian attack with three goals,
