A bronze wrap-up for B.C.'s Pacific Storm in CNWPL action

Canadian National Water Polo League (CNWPL) 2005 play wrapped up in Montreal over the weekend with B.C.'s Pacific Storm Senior Men's team nabbing bronze and the Senior Women securing a 4th place finish in the final round TIER 1 Championship.

Pacific Storm's Senior Women's goalie Rachell Riddell, fended off an aggressive attack throughout and was given the game star vote 3 three times, Angela Johnston and Sue Gardiner once each.

The Senior Men's team took the bronze medal in an overtime 12-11 win over Regina. Pacific Storm's Kevin Mitchell took game star honors in the championship tournament with 3 to team mate Brandon Jung's one.

CNWPL play resumes in January.

XI FINA World Championships-- July 17-31-- Montreal, Quebec.
This international water polo event is the most important sporting event to be held in Canada this summer. It will bring together 2,000 athletes from 160 countries in water polo, swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and open water swimming. Sports fans will see the best aquatic athletes in the world. This event is the first time the FINA World Championship have been held in North America.
