Allison Campbell: Female Bantam Player of the Year

Allison Campbell attends Maple Ridge Secondary.
While technically still a bantam Allison Campbell played on the Cadet girl's team. She was the youngest player and one of the strongest. She and her teammates collected a string of gold medals and were crowned the National champions in Toronto in April.

A hard working, totally dedicated athlete Allison loves the game, wants to go as far as she can and was excited and happy to hear she was named Bantam Player of the year. Pacific storm coach Ian Goodman describes Allison this way, "Allison is a very smart, young player with great instincts. She is very well rounded with an accurate shot, good driving ability and excellent defensive skills. She is also mentally tough." Allison Campbell is outstanding player on her way!

Igor Silva: Male Bantam Player of the Year

Igor lives in Haney and attends Arch Bishop Carney in Port Coquitlam.
Igor Silva tried water polo for the first time at age 7, but he couldn't swim so they sent him away and told him to come back next year. He learned to swim and back he went. Six years later, coaches describe Igor as an extremely intelligent and intense young player with a strong desire to succeed.

Igor loved training with the Storm elite program and the tournament play this year. When told he was selected Bantam player of the Year, Igor's first thought was…"WOW"…and then he felt very grateful. Igor Silva is a player to watch.

Kelsey Campbell: Female Cadet Player of the Year

Kelsey Campbell attends Maple Ridge Secondary.
For Kelsey Campbell it was a year of highlights-being selected as a member of the Pan American Games Youth team, "it was really cool to represent my country at the Pan Am Youth Games", and winning the Cadet National Championship. Game stats also tell us that Kelsey was one of the top scorers in the Pan Am Games and she was the only BC player named to the National All Star team.

In presenting the award to her coach Ian Goodman said, "Kelsey is an extremely motivated player. Her desire to win and be the best is her greatest asset." It's all about the team as a far as Kelsey is concerned, "it's nice to receive recognition...but I get more excited about team wins than individual ones." Kelsey Campbell is the ultimate team player!

Stuart Preston: Male Cadet Player of the Year

Stuart Preston attends Port Moody Secondary.
"Stuart Preston is a really gifted athlete", said Pacific Storm head coach Ian Goodman, "he is a great competitor who doesn't like to lose." Stuart has been playing water polo for 5 years but 3 years ago he made a big decision, he took his 6'4'' frame and moved into goal.

It was a wise choice. This year he and his team mates took 2 gold medals, the Cadet Nationals and the Juvenile Men's. The defining moment was being named Most Valuable Goalie at the Juvenile Men's, with that he grabbed the attention of National team scouts. Stuart's reaction to being named Cadet of the Year, "ECSTATIC"! Stuart Preston is a gifted player.

Carmen Eggens: Female Juvenile Player of the Year and Female MVP

Carmen Eggens attends Pitt Meadows Secondary.
Double award winner Carmen Eggens is an undisputed water polo powerhouse. Coach Ian Goodman describes her this way, "Carmen is one of the most physically talented female players in Canada….when she is on her game she is unstoppable." She has the distinction of being a member of the Junior National team, travelling to Australia for the World Games and to El Salvador for the Pan Am's. She is a natural leader on Pacific Storm's Juvenile Women's team.

As strong as she is in the water she displays a quiet humility out of it. When asked how she reacted to hearing of her BC Water Polo awards she smiled, thought for a second and with twinkling eyes said, "I was happy." Carmen Eggens is the pride of BC.

Con Kudaba: Male Juvenile Player of the Year

Con Kudaba recently graduated from Terry Fox Secondary.
"Con is a very solid all around player. He is an excellent defender, goods driver and has a very good outside shot. He is very strong physically and never gives up", said Pacific Storm head coach Ian Goodman. Those are most likely the very qualities that earned him a spot on the Junior National team. That and consistently displaying the most sportsman like attitude and behaviour.

With graduation from Terry Fox Secondary this June Con is poised on the brink of a new chapter. He is relocating to Calgary where the Men's National team is centralized and where he'll be attending the University of Calgary in the fall. Con Kudaba is the ultimate role model.
