December 3 Meeting Results
The Board of
Directors of the BC Water Polo Association have voted to expel
the Sannich Water Polo School from membership in the
provincial sport organization. The lengthy meeting included
submissions from SWPS and a presentation by Mr. Mark Yunker,
an appointed representative for Saanich Water Polo School.
The BC Water
Polo Association is concerned about Water Polo athletes on
Vancouver Island and is prepared to work with local
representatives to re establish programs and services to the
Water Polo community as quickly as possible.
It is the
understanding of the BC Water Polo Association that Saanich
Commonwealth Pool will continue to recognize the High
Performance status of the club for a minimum 30 day period,
after which SWPS may utilize the pool in the context and
limitations of a community recreation club. It is also the
understanding of BCWPA that individuals' insurance coverage
will not apply to activities that are conducted by a
non-member.
