Dakic from Hull, Quebec scores to give Canada a Bronze Medal
at the Junior Pan Am Championships
 |
Ottawa –
Water Polo Canada’s Junior Men’s National Team captured
the Bronze Medal and had their best showing at the Pan Am
Championships today. Trailing 5-1 in the fourth quarter,
Canada’s Devon Diggle (Dollard Club, Montreal) scored to
force the game into overtime. In overtime, Dusko Dakic (Hull,
Que) scored to give Canada the edge to defeat Columbia 7-6 and
stole the bronze medal away. |
Men’s Highlights:
Gyula Toth, Head Coach of Junior Men states: “We won a medal
and did better than the last Pan Am Championships where we
placed 5th but it still wasn't a great game for Canada. We
seemed to only show character and no real water polo skills
and strategies. Our rhythm was very slow.”
