Canada Red
Dominates at Hawaiian Invitational
Vancouver,
B.C. - The Top 30 Canadian Youth boys converged on the 37th
annual Hawaiian Invitational Water Polo Tournament held in
Honolulu, Hawaii August 5 - 14, 2006. There they played as 2
teams; Canada White (East) and Canada Red (West). While both
teams finished in the Top 10 of this prestigious event Canada
Red was a dominate force placing second to Villa Park in the
Boys U18 category. The final game (7-6 Villa Park/Canada Red)
was a bitter loss for the Canadian team who had remained
undefeated throughout tournament play.
B.C. players
on the Canada Red team were Chris Toy (Burnaby), Daniel Tausen
(Burnaby), Evan Van Niekerk (Delta), Stuart Preston (Coquitlam),
Patrick Geary (Coquitlam), Joel Vanjoff (Abbotsford) and
Stuart Jacobsen(Abbotsford), Colby Draney (Abbotsford), Dale
Morgan (Chilliwack) and John Kaukinen (North Vancouver).
The Hawaiian
Invitational Water Polo Tournament has become a highly
prestigious event attracting over 100 teams including teams
from the US, England, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand,
South Africa and Japan.
