BC Cadet Boys out of medals at National Championship

Vancouver, B.C. - It was a disappointing National Championship for BC's cadet boys. Three strong teams hoped for a medal finish but it wasn't meant to be---this year.

BC's top two teams Fraser Valley Water Polo and Storm A went head to head in semi final action and finished 7th and 8th respectively. It was an evenly matched game that saw Fraser Valley defeat Pacific Storm with a decisive 15 - 9 victory. Fraser Valley co-coaches Ian and Justin Mitchell said, "the boys got more and more cohesive as the tournament went on, and this 7th place National finish will make people stand up and take notice, that Fraser Valley is a worthy and true contender on the national scene". Also during Nationals it was noted that Fraser Valley's Igor Silva was named to the all-star team.

Storm A coach Ryan Bazeley summed it up this way, "Storm A had two extremely close games against Calgary (who ultimately took bronze) and CAMO (silver) - losing both by just two goals. The team fought extremely hard and put everything they had into those games and unfortunately lost their drive after being knocked out of the medal round."

BC's Storm B finished 12th.
