In the gold medal match up the BC team defeated Quebec
powerhouse CAMO. The teams ended regulation play in a 9-9 tie.
Two 3 minute overtime periods followed, Storm scored in the
first and held onto the lead to win 10-9. Coach James Gardiner
summed it up, "It was a heart stopping game…the girls
played with heart and emotion and excellent poise. It was a
great summation of an incredible year." Co coach John
Stockdale added, "CAMO did a tremendous job taking us to
the wire…an exciting game for all the fans to watch it was
nice to play in front of the home town crowd!"
Individual honors went to Monika Eggens who as named to the
All Star team and MVP of the tournament. Outstanding play was
also seen by Athina Vazeos, Saara Majuri, Kelly Stewart,
Kelsey Campbell, Kirstn Mase and Biz Pannell who received game
stars nods.
