| Vancouver,
B.C. - BC Water Polo hosted the Canadian Youth Women's
Top 50 camp. It was held in Vancouver May 21 -22
following the Youth Nationals Championship. The
selection camp was the final step in naming 2 National
Youth teams. Team A will centralize in Vancouver and
represent Canada at an international tournament in
Australia in July. Team B will centralize in Montreal
and represent Canada at the Youth Pan Am's in Santo
Domingo in August.

John Stockdale pleased with the caliber of the camp
said, "it was nice to see such depth at this age
group … to see 50 quality athletes competing for
positions to represent their country. It was a pleasure
to work with such a positive and hard working
group." Athlete Jessie Mather-Lingley summed the
camp up," It was informative….it was FUN....I
learned a lot". Hayley Wade added, "lots of
hard work-for sure-everyone worked extremely hard there
were lots of opportunities for feedback". Goalie
Alex Sharp liked the unpredictability, "I learned
to adapt to different environments and different players
and situations…it was good!"
Coaches
James Gardiner and Jeff Lindell offered an overview at
the camp wrap up. James speaking to the group
said," You guys were in here playing like you
wanted it-that's exactly what we wanted to see…you
were in there fighting!" Jeff added, "this
(selection) process is not going to be easy there is a
lot of talent in this group."
The coaches parting words were encouraging for all,
"Look forward to representing your country!"
