BC takes
Women title in BC OPEN Championship
Vancouver,
B.C. - BC's STORM A reclaimed the BC OPEN Women's title after
having lost it to Stanford for 2 years. The gold medal game
pitted BC's Women, who were unbeaten throughout the
tournament, against Stanford Red. It was a seesaw battle from
the opening whistle. At the beginning of the 4th quarter the
score was tied 8-8. Then the STORM Women dug in and stepped it
up pounding ball after ball into the net. The final score
12-9. In the Men's division Fraser Valley Water Polo Black
faced Calgary in the gold medal match up. It was a tight, hard
played game with less than a minute to go in regulation play
the score was 13 -11 Calgary. FVWP popped a fast one in the
net in and it looked as if they would tie the game but the
clock ran out. The recovery too late-Fraser Valley Water Polo
Black took silver and Calgary men the gold.
