WATER POLO CANADA
2009/10 National Team Developmental Centre (NDC), Host Agreement

Water Polo Canada is pleased to confirm the following hosts for the 0910 Men’s and Women’s NDC programs. The program will commence in
October 2009 and operate until May 2010, under the leadership of the Men’s National Team Program Leader / Head Coach, Dragan Jovanovic and Women’s National Team Program Leader / Head Coach, Pat Oaten:

Water Polo Canada est ravi de confirmer les lieux suivants pour le programme du CDN homme/femme. Ce programme débutera en octobre 2009 et durera jusqu’au moi de mai 2010, sous la surveillance de l’entraîneur en chef du Programme de l’Équipe National Homme, Dragan Jovanovic et l’entraîneur en chef du Programme National Femme, Pat Oaten:

Men’s National Team Program:

  • Montreal NDC – hosted by CAMO Water Polo Club – NDC Head Coach Robert Couillard
  • Ottawa / Hull NDC – WILL NOT OPERATE AT THIS TIME

Women’s National Team Program:

  • Montreal NDC – hosted by Quebec Water Polo Federation – Head Coaches David Paradello and Justin Oliveira
  • Ottawa NDC – hosted by Ottawa Titans Water Polo Club – NDC Head Coach Cyndie Flett
  • Toronto NDC – hosted by York Mavericks Water Polo Club – NDC Head Coach to be confirmed
  • Alberta NDC – hosted by Alberta Water Polo Association – NDC Head Coach Gyula Toth

Pain and Mental Stress in Sport:

The NAHPCV, PacificSport Victoria and the University of Victoria are hosting the following workshop on pain and stress.  Please see attached PDF for further details. The topic is not specific to Athletics so athletes and coaches from all sports are invited to join us. 

WORKSHOP: Pain and Mental Stress in Sport: What do we think of it?
An informative weekend for coaches and athletes to explore this interesting topic presented by Athletics Canada, PacificSport Victoria and the University of Victoria Athletics and Recreation.

Halifax Tournament

Invitation for 14U tournament to be held in Halifax 27 to 29 November 2009. It is an important milestone as this will be used as a stepping stone towards the Maritimes hosting the 18U Nationals at the end of April 2010. ---> more

Hyponatremia

Hyponatremia is the technical term used to describe low sodium levels in the blood. Although rare, this condition can occur in healthy, active individuals. Left untreated hyponatremia can result in severe nausea, vomiting, disorientation, and possibly even death.
