MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of The British Columbia Water Polo Society is to encourage and promote the
development of water polo throughout the Province of British Columbia; to promote excellence in the
sport of water polo and to provide all players with the opportunity to realize the level of personal
achievement in the sport that their determination and ability allow them to attain; and to organize,
operate and regulate water polo competitions at all levels throughout the Province.

2.1 Vision Statement

• BC Water Polo is a progressive and innovative organization, dedicated to delivering quality, values-based programs throughout British Columbia.
• There are skilled, qualified leadership and management, including capable and committed volunteers at the Board and Committee levels.
• An atmosphere of respect, honesty and open communication, actively involving all members of the association, encourages ownership and pride in our accomplishments.
• BCWPA is an athlete/participant-oriented sport with accessible, affordable, and equitable programming for its members.
• That BCWPA support and promote an elite level of play, through the Provincial Program
• BCWPA has established good relations between our association and the private sector, media, government and related agencies as well as the local, national and international sport community.
• BCWPA operates as a professional association, based upon recognized and effective business practices and sound financial management.
• Strive to enhance municipal partnerships.
