Women's water polo team, she played in the 2004 Olympic Games
in Athens, Greece and was a standout in the 2005 FINA World

quiet and demure Rachel Riddell transforms in the net to
highly intense and driven.
How
it all began…..
Rachel Riddell was born in Winnipeg but spent most of her
early years growing up in West Vancouver graduating from West
Van Secondary in 2002. Her introduction to water polo was as a
bantam with the North Van Cruisers. Immediately a standout,
she moved quickly through the ranks being named to the Youth
National Pan Am team in 2000 bound for Venezuela.
Since
then Rachel has traveled the world as a Canadian National team
member-World Games in Australia (2001), Pan Am's (Florida 2002
/ Dominican Republic 2003), Commonwealth Games ( 2002 / 2006),
World Championships in Barcelona, Spain (2003). Her team took
the gold medal at the Junior Worlds in Calgary in 2003 and the
bronze at the FINA World Aquatic Championships in 2005. Rachel
has been named most valuable goalie at several national and
international tournaments.
Where
she is now…..
Rachel is in her third year at Loyola Marymount University in
California as a sociology major with a minor in business. She
is an all-time LMU leader with 4.14 goals against average. In
2005 she was an honorable mention All-American. Rachel has led
her team to 5 straight WWPA (Western Water polo Association)
