Tausan - Complex and Extraordinary
Seventeen year old Daniel Tausan describes the sport that has
him hooked, "water polo is where your body is your weapon
and your defense….it is a sport for those who are smart and
capable of getting away with things under water". You get
the sense that there is much to know about this athlete
described by friends as persistent, honest and patient and who
will focus on medicine after he graduates from Bryne Creek
Secondary next year.
A Burnaby Barracuda swimmer Daniel was introduced to water
polo by former BC Provincial coach Ian Goodman. He remembers
his first game 6 years ago at age 11, "I thought of all
the mistakes I made and to not do them again… I still do
that!"
His goal, to make the National team, may not be too far off
having just been named as one of Canada's Top 30 Youth Men.
His love for the sport runs deep and extends well beyond
performance, "water polo has built into my personality,
making me a better person physically, mentally and
socially". We finish as we began…there is much to know
about Daniel this is a mere scratch on the surface.
Daniel Tausan….a complex and extraordinary athlete!
Daniel lives with his family in Burnaby. He is a grade 12
honour role student at Bryne Creek Secondary.
Daniel Tausan is available for interviews.
